About me

I live in Atlanta GA with my wife Zoe and our beautiful baby Nina. I have 18 years HCM & technology consulting experience in multiple verticals and countries. Currently I am responsible for the development of the Open Source Community program for inBloom Inc. an Atlanta based EdTech nonprofit company. Previous to this I held a number of senior leadership roles with technology staffing companies and was a founding partner and Chief Technology Officer of Anteo Group, an award winning Enterprise Java recruiting and solutions company. I have a Bachelor's Degree (hons) in design from the University of the West Midlands in Birmingham England; and in another life was a full time athlete, competing at World Championship level in whitewater kayaking for a number of years

Nonprofit engagement

  • Board member of The Emergency Food and Shelter Program, an organization that distributes a FEMA grant to programs for the homeless http://efsp.unitedway.org
  • Sponsorship Committee Co-Chair for TechBridge an Atlanta based nonprofit which acts as a technology enabler for nonprofits. http://techbridge.org
  • Board member/Treasurer of the Atlanta Java Users Group http://ajug.org
  • Organizer of Devnexus, the South East's premier software development conference http://devnexus.com

What I can bring to the OSI

I am not a software engineer, I have a degree in sculpture...

In saying that I have found that my creative background has given me a unique perspective to business and technical issues and problems over the years. It has given me the ability to apply right-brain solutions to left-brain problems. I can offer a perspective to the OSI that will be different to someone from a traditional engineering background. I give freely of my time to nonprofit and volunteer organizations and I have a passion for technology and for the transparency that open source brings and for what it can enable in the world we live in. Especially for those that have limited resources
