Joshua D. Drake is a major contributor to PostgreSQL.Org, the PostgreSQL SPI Liaison, and Founder of United States PostgreSQL. He is also a former Director for Software in the Public Interest and United States PostgreSQL. He has a long history of contributing to Open Source communities personally as well as through the company he founded, Command Prompt, Inc. He currently spends the majority of his contribution time organizing PgConf.US, the largest PostgreSQL conference in North America. When he isn't working with Open Source he spends time in the outdoors with his family.

If elected I would focus on:

  • Increasing OSI visibility
    • Work with communities and conferences to increase the knowledge profile of the corporation
    • Work with contributors to increase the original educational content provided by the corporation
    • Work with the board and contributors to effectively fund-raise for published goals of the corporation
  • Assist in streamlining process
    • Use my over 20 years of business management experience to increase efficiency in accounting, fundraising and other business processes such as license review
    • Use my over 25 years of Open Source technology experience to better our infrastructure
  • Find new avenues to support our mission
    • Online instructor led training?
    • Increased support for speakers at conferences?
    • Increased support for affiliated projects?
    • Work with contributors and communities to create [Insert great idea here].
    • I want the corporation to work with members, communities and contributors to effectively listen and implement supportable ideas.
