Joseph,
Do you think "subscription" is the right word for the affiliation? While I understand membership is a tough word for you, I think it is the language the OSI has adopted in out "Affiliate Membership" and "Individual Membership" programs.
RE: "While I understand membership is a tough word for you"
:-) Not for me. I'm just keeping things within the "Bylaws of the Open Source Initiative" http://opensource.org/bylaws
ARTICLE IV MEMBERS / Section 1. MEMBERSHIP.
This corporation shall have no members.
Maybe Luis could advise.
BTW, while I presume it's not necessary to be quite as structured as the W3C or other standards bodies, it's nevertheless useful to see their process. A Community Group can propose [1] an activity to the W3C Team [2] as a possible official W3C Activity [3]. If such a proposal is accepted, a W3C Web Payments Working Group [4] could then be assembled to develop and maintain an official technical standard.
Quick question for confirmation... should any additional rigor be described for the "Chartering Process" section on this present page?

I would prefer to have the work done in the wiki as the email lists do not provide the level of access (search, co-creation, outputs, etc.)
I'd like to include just the manner in which we are developing this document - co-autoring through the wiki directly, wiki discussion threads, annotations, comments, etc.
Again maximizing the features/functionality of this platform (our wiki) would be ideal.
It would be nice if one could email this comments sections in xwiki. It's useful to always be able to search in one place for the things one had said. For example, I'm able to interact via email with discussions on github.
