FLOW Educators Working Committee
DRAFT - Educators Committee Terms of Reference
The work of the Education Committee is in support of the Open Source Initiative, Management Education Working Group (OSI-EDU-WG), whose charter is found at http://wiki.opensource.org/bin/Projects/Charter-OSI-EDU-WG-2014-2015.
1. Purpose
The purpose of the Educators' Working Committee is to support and advance the ongoing development of the Free, Libre, and Open Works (FLOW) Syllabus as a resource for use and adaptation by educators (including self-educators) into the learning plans or curricula that they design. For example the Educator's Working Committee:
- evolves and refines the structure, supportive information, and presentation of the FLOW Syllabus;
- raises awareness about the FLOW Syllabus within the education community;
- solicits feedback from the education community on both the substance and form of the resource;
- communicates with the other Working Committes (Lawyers; Technologists; Project/Organizational Managers) to advocate for the advancement and inclusion of topics as appropriate in the FLOW Syllabus;
- engages in conversation about learning approaches and educational methods to achieve OSI's purposes in Management Education.
2. Term
This Terms of Reference is effective from 09/01/14 and will be evolved by agreement of participants, subject to joint approval (on an ad hoc basis) by the Coordinators of the Working Committees (Lawyers; Technologists; Project/Organizational Managers), and the Board of the OSI.
The Coordinator role is for a term of 1 year, renewable by agreement of participants, subject to joint approval (on an ad hoc basis) by the Coordinators of the Working Committees (Lawyers; Technologists; Project/Organizational Managers).
3. Membership
Membership is open and voluntary.

4. Roles of Committee Participants
Meetings
Meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at:

- Brisbane/Toowoomba (Australia - Queensland) / Wednesday 6:00:00 AM / AEST UTC+10 hours

Engagement/Participation
Fulfilling its purpose, the Education Committee will engage in:
- Evolution and refinement of the structure, supportive information, and presentation of the FLOW Syllabus;

- Promotion of the FLOW project and FLOW Syllabus use in the education community:
- Introduce new potential participants to the FLOW community and materials.
- Raise awareness of the project and materials.
- Receiving feedback from the education community regarding both the substance and form of the resource;

- new content,
- syllabi of courses using the FLOW Syllabus,
- learning designs and sequences supporting instruction.
