This wiki is a prototype to help handle the License Review process of OSI.

Try it out

The following features are currently available:

Licenses

• Create a license document and fill in
  • The license text
  • Submission notes
  • License meta-data including the status of the review
  • The license "report" for the board

Annotations & Tasks

• Annotate licenses and create Tasks associated to annotations
• View all annotations concerning a license
• View all tasks concerning a licence and their status

Publication Workflow

Once the license is discussed and all tasks resolved:

• The license can be sent to moderation to finalize the report for the board
• The license can be sent to the board for validation
• The license can be published to the published licenses section

Other features

• Wiki editing with full history
• Threaded commenting
• Notifications

Potential work to finalize

• Work to create the prototype: 1 day
• 1 day finalization of the wiki
• Improve relationships between annotations and tasks
• Link the review status with the workflow status
• Show only tasks associated to current licenses when clicking on "see full list"
• Customize livetables to show only "active" reviews and create new ones to show all and adapt fields show on published livetable
• Any other requests that the team could provide

Total work: a first version could be done in around 5 days and 1-2 days / year of support could be budgeted. A second batch of 5 days could be used for improvements based on user feedback.

Infrastructure: this can run on the OSI Wiki platform hosted on XWiki Cloud in a subwiki.

If more complex workflow related tasks are asked for this could generate significant more development work.

This could include:

• Custom notifications
• Importing previous license discussion data (5 days+)
• email interactions (to analyze)
• archiving features
