Many of the efforts underway within the OSI (e.g. committee work, operation, working groups) require direct participation by Board members. I was wondering about what level of participation you will be able to provide and how your time might be best spent?
Sorry for the delay Patrick - I assumed that I would get an email/notification if a comment was added to my page.
I anticipate that the OSI efforts will require direct participation, and I have been able to accommodate similar responsibilities along with my client work in the past. In my role as a lead on our internal Open Source CoP, my work with the Board would contribute to my employer's expectations around specialization and eminence.
As to how my time would best be spent, that would largely depend on the specific working group or committee work - I would be equally comfortable brainstorming/refining/writing policy, or doing hands-on technical work (admittedly not a master of all trades, but willing to hack on almost anything).
