Many of the efforts underway within the OSI (e.g. committee work, operation, working groups) require direct participation by Board members. I was wondering about what level of participation you will be able to provide and how your time might be best spent?

I appreciate your efforts to get a feel for each candidate's level of commitment for serving on the board.  I would not have put forward my candidacy consideration without being fully willing to commit to all duties and responsibilities including face-to-face meetings, monthly phone calls, discussions, voting, and so much more.  My personal and professional background includes working with and for a number of non-profits over the years, so I know what is involved.  No caveats.

Beyond the requirements, I'm interested in outreach and growth opportunities.  My time and experience are best spent on strategic planning, research initiatives, government and educational outreach, legal perspectives, decision making, and promotional campaigns.  Not only do I have the perspective of an open source developer engaged in numerous communities, my technical background lets me take on an active role on working groups for graphic design efforts, website development, system administration, infrastructure management, statistics tracking, and more.  I'm particularly interested in helping OSI become more proactive.
