| |||
| I am from Nigeria, and I live in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I have been in open source for more than half my life as a high
| school student. Through the One Laptop Per Child initiative, I understood and got drawn into the ecosystem and started my
| journey. I made my way up from joining open source outreach programs to joining Sugar Labs as a core member.
| |||
| |||
| Growing up, I knew something was missing because of the less effort to educate open source within my community. To grow
| that, I made it a mission to support, educate and collaborate with people around me to define open source with complete
| diversity in just any skillsets and Africa.
| |||
| |||
| I have been advocating for open source for around 8-9 years now, co-founder of Open Source Community Africa, created events
| to help me reach more people.
| |||
| |||
| I can do these things without being on the Board for OSI, but I have the opportunity to bring more people around the
| culture, as I recently did with many efforts from Africa, like the Open Source Festival.
| |||
| |||
| About two years ago, I worked with OSI to make Open Source Community Africa an affiliate member, automatically bringing
| more education to the continent that is currently growing rapidly.
| |||
| |||
| I believe in openness, education, collaboration, and real diversity; this is something that I will bring to the Board.
