Jeff "Jefro" Osier-Mixon is an open source veteran. He started working as a technical contributor in the world of free software in 1992 at Cygnus Support, writing documentation for the GNU tools. Over the 25 years since then, Jefro has been deeply involved in both the technical and administrative aspects of open source for a number of companies and projects, usually in the embedded space and often close to silicon. He has worked since 2011 as an open source community manager and administrator at Intel's Open Source Technology Center, working hands-on with influential projects such as the Yocto Project and the Zephyr Project. He speaks annually at a number of open source conferences around the world about the crucial role of community, best practices for managing it effectively, and general guidance on the administration of open source projects. Jefro has a strong interest in diversity and inclusion and a passion for community-driven projects.
